2015-07-18MINUTE ORDER TO SHOW CAUSE: It appears from the record that the pro se Plaintiff in this action, who initiated this action on 03/18/2015, has yet to effectuate service on the Defendant even though the Clerk of the Court issued a summons on 03/18/2015. Plaintiffs in civil actions, who proceed pro se (e.g., without an attorney) have a responsibility to comply with this court's Local Civil Rules (http://www.dcd.uscourts.gov/dcd/local-rules), as well as the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, including Rule 4, which requires service upon each defendant within 120 days after filing the complaint. See Fed. R. Civ. P. 4. Therefore, it is hereby ORDERED that Plaintiff SHOW CAUSE, in writing, on or before July 29, 2015, why the claims against Defendant should not be dismissed for failure to effectuate service. Plaintiff's failure to effectuate service or to satisfactorily respond to the present order by July 29, 2015, may result in the dismissal of this action, without further notice. See Fed. R. Civ.
