Case DescriptionAsian Americans Advancing Justice - Asian Law Caucus submitted a FOIA request to the Department of Homeland Security for records concerning the repatriation of Laotian nationals who had been ordered removed from the United States. The agency acknowledged receipt of the request and told AAAJ that it would invoke a 10-day extension to respond. AAAJ then requested expedited processing. Although the agency told AAAJ that it was processing the request, after hearing nothing further from the agency, AAAJ filed suit.
