Case DescriptionThe American Immigration Council, the National Immigration Project of the National Lawyers Guild, and the ACLU submitted FOIA requests to the Department of Homeland Security concerning implementation of an expedited removal process as it pertained to detainees at the Artesia Family Residential Center in New Mexico. The groups also requested expedited processing. Four DHS components denied the requests for expedited processing. After hearing nothing further concerning the request, the groups filed suit.
