Case DescriptionNew York Times reporter Charlie Savage submitted a FOIA request to the Department of Justice for a December 2014 memo from the Office of Legal Counsel to the Counsel to the President concerning authority to use military force in Iraq. The agency acknowledged receipt of the request, but after hearing nothing further from the agency, Savage and the New York Times filed suit.
