FOIA Project Annotation: Judge Royce Lamberth ruled that the U.S. Postal Service conducted an adequate search for records concerning Orly Taitz's claim that President Barack Obama was not born in the United States and properly redacted two pages of records under Exemption 7(C) (invasion of privacy concerning law enforcement records). Taitz claimed the agency should have provided records created after the date of her request. But Lamberth disagreed, noting that "plaintiff is not entitled, in this case, to any documents created after the date of her request. Defendants are not required to provide updated versions of records on an ongoing basis, nor records created after the date of her request--which is the appropriate cut-off date for responsive records."
