Case DescriptionRonald Schaaf and other landowners submitted FOIA requests to the Bureau of Land Management, the FBI, and U.S. Customs and Border Protection for records concerning surveillance and security activities carried out against participants in the Jordan Cove Energy Project. The agencies acknowledged receipt of the requests. The agencies disclosed some records, withholding others. Finding that the agencies' responses were insufficient, Schaaf and the other requesters filed suit.
