Case DescriptionJames Patrick Reedom submitted FOIA requests to the Social Security Administration and the IRS. The Social Security Administration did not respond. The IRS provided some records but withheld others under Exemption 4 (confidential business information). The IRS denied Reedom's appeal. He then filed suit. Because he lived in Texas, the case was transferred from the Southern District of New York, where it was originally filed, to the Northern District of Texas.

2014-08-277ORDER: The Clerk of Court is directed to assign this matter to my docket, mail a copy of thisorder to Plaintiff, and note service on the docket. The Clerk of Court is further directed totransfer this action to the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas, Fort Worth Division. Plaintiffs request to proceed further without payment of fees was granted by this Court by order dated July 18, 2014. This order supersedes the provision of Rule 83.1 of the Local Rules for the Southern District of New York that requires a seven-day delay before theClerk of Court may effectuate the transfer of the case to the transferee court. A summons shall not issue from this Court. This order closes this case. The Court certifies, pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 1915(a)(3), that any appeal from this order would not be taken in good faith, and therefore in forma pauperis status is denied for the purpose of an appeal.
