Case DescriptionHarold W. Van Allen submitted a FOIA request to the FBI for records concerning a 1957 American Mob Conference. The FBI responded that it could find no records. Its decision was upheld on appeal to the Office of Information Policy. Although there is no indication how Van Allen is associated with the Natural Born Citizen Party National Committee, the group filed suit against the FEC for a writ of mandamus and against the FBI on the FOIA denial.
