2025-08-1516RESPONSE re 15 MOTION for Scheduling Order filed by MICHAEL TODD WELTY. (Attachments: # 1 Text of Proposed Order)(Norman, Macdonald) (Entered: 08/15/2025)
2025-08-18SCHEDULING ORDER: Having reviewed the parties' briefing on the Government's 15 motion for a scheduling order, the Court GRANTS the motion. The Court is satisfied that the Government's request to process 500 pages per month is reasonable. See Middle E. F. v. Dep't Homeland Sec. , 297 F. Supp. 3d 183, 185–87 & n.3 (D.D.C. 2018) (discussing standard and collecting cases approving of "a production rate of 500 pages per month"). Other than their dispute about the monthly processing rate, the parties agree to all aspects of the Government's proposed schedule. See ECF 16 at 1 ("Plaintiff only takes issue with the proposed production schedule of 500 pages per month."). The Court therefore ORDERS the Defendant to make its first release of documents no later than October 16, 2025, to file a status report on October 31, 2025, and on the last day of every third month thereafter, and to otherwise proceed according to the terms of the Government's [15-2] proposed scheduling order. Signed by Judge Jia M. Cobb on August 18, 2025. (lcjmc3) (Entered: 08/18/2025)
