Case DescriptionPreserve Our Islands, a local organization advocating for preservation of Vashon and Maury Islands, submitted a FOIA request to U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for records submitted to the agency by Northwest Aggregate or Glacier Northwest. The agency acknowledged receipt of the request and disclosed some records but withheld others under Exemption 5 (privileges). Preserve Our Islands filed an administrative appeal but after hearing nothing further from the agency, Preserve Our Islands filed suit.
