Case Description
American Wild Horse Campaign submitted a FOIA request to the Bureau of Land Management for records concerning wild horses and wild burros that discuss or describe any returns to the BLM after the agency had previously adopted out these wild horses or burros to members of the public. The agency acknowledged receipt of the request and asked AWHC to clarify the scope of its request. AWHC provided clarification but after hearing nothing further from the agency, AWHC filed suit. Complaint issues: Failure to respond within statutory time limit, Adequacy - Search, Litigation - Attorney's fees
